It’s too late for me to make this an assignment. But if you’re looking for good blog fodder, you may have heard that President Obama is speaking at Northeastern on Sunday. The purpose is to give a boost to Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley, who unexpectedly finds herself in a neck-and-neck race with Republican Scott Brown. Here is the full notice:
To the Northeastern community:
As President of the Northeastern University College Democrats, I am excited to tell you that President Barack Obama will be at Northeastern tomorrow attending a campaign event for Democratic senate candidate Martha Coakley.
Northeastern College Democrats are proud to sponsor the event on Sunday in the Cabot Gym. Doors will open at 1 p.m. Because seating is very limited, I encourage people to watch the event in the Curry Student Center. We also believe it will be broadcast live on several Boston news stations.
Those who wish to attend are encouraged not to bring items such as backpacks, umbrellas and water bottles for security reasons.
I hope all members of the Northeastern community — regardless of of political affiliation — share our excitement about this visit from the President of the United States.

If you’re able, you should try to head over to Cabot or Curry, interview some fellow students (and others) and write about the experience.
